Information We Collect from Website Visitors

We do not actively collect personal information directly from visitors (for example, through forms, accounts, or user input). There are no accounts, newsletters, analytics, or tracking pixels on this site.

Hosting and Server Logs

Our website is hosted on Vercel Inc. Vercel automatically generates standard server logs which may include:

  • IP addresses
  • Browser type and version
  • Pages visited and time of visit
  • Referring website

Lawful basis: We rely on legitimate interests (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)) — specifically, operating, securing, and maintaining the performance of our website.

Retention: Server logs are retained by Vercel in accordance with their standard retention policy. We do not extract, store, or further process these logs ourselves.

International transfers: Vercel is headquartered in the United States and logs may be processed outside the UK. Such transfers are covered by Vercel's contractual safeguards, including Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum. See Vercel's privacy policy at https://vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.

Cookies

This website does not set cookies. We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies of any kind.

TikTok API Integration

Dark Truths Told operates a TikTok Developer application that uses TikTok's Login Kit and Content Posting API. This integration is used solely by the operator of Dark Truths Told to publish content to our own TikTok account (@darktruthstold). No third-party users authenticate through this application, and no end-user data is collected, stored, or processed via the TikTok API.

When the operator authenticates via Login Kit, TikTok provides an access token which is stored securely and used only to publish content to the operator's own account via the Content Posting API. No TikTok user data — including profile information, follower data, video data, or analytics — is collected from or about any other TikTok user.

Access tokens are retained only for as long as needed to operate the integration and are revoked when no longer required. We do not share, sell, or transfer any data obtained via the TikTok API to any third party.

Third-Party Links

Our website contains links to TikTok (@darktruthstold). When you click these links, you will be redirected to TikTok's platform, which is governed by TikTok's own privacy policy.

Your Rights Under UK GDPR

As we do not collect or store personal data about website visitors beyond the limited server logs described above, the practical scope of these rights is limited. However, if you believe we hold personal information about you, you have the right to:

  • Request access to your personal data
  • Request correction of your personal data
  • Request deletion of your personal data
  • Object to processing of your personal data
  • Request restriction of processing
  • Request transfer of your personal data

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at darktruthstold@gmail.com.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator, at https://ico.org.uk.

Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
